A gastroenterology fellowship with board certification in IM and GI is mandatory, however a recently trained physician will also be considered with the stipulation that board certifications are achieved within a few years for continued employment.
A simulation and education center is being constructed with the University of Illinois College of Medicine with a completion date of spring 2013.
