As the Sales Account Executive for Connecture you will leverage your healthcare IT and/or insurance IT sales experience to sell our Medicare suite into new-logo accounts and build/grow customer relationships in key accounts.

The focus of this position is to increase market share within health plans offering Medicare, increasing company ARR, while ensuring customer satisfaction and revenue retention within assigned current customers.

You will drive a professionally directed sales strategy aimed at generating leads, managing multiple strategic sales processes and closing net-new customers, while also focusing on an existing customer base for retention and expansion. Collaborate with technology, marketing, sales specialist, professional services and support groups to ensure sales growth and customer success with use of product and/or service. Oversee proactive engagement with customers to build value and ensure long-term partnership. Maintain a deep knowledge of customer industry, product, and competitors in the market.

What your impact will be:
  • Attainment of personal new business sales quota and revenue goals.
  • Work with Connecture s marketing team to optimize lead generation efforts and identify target customers. Follow-up aggressively on all leads.
  • Identify and close new business opportunities manage a strategic sales process from lead to contract negotiation to close new logo sales.
  • Coordinate with the sales, marketing and finance teams to upsell new modules and products to existing customers to optimize their workflow and use of the product.
  • Coordinate solutions enablement/sales support resources on specific opportunities for live and web-based demonstrations of our platform.
  • Assist with market, competitor, and industry trends research to support corporate and sales goal attainment.
  • Accountable for securing customer renewals and all continued revenue generating activity for assigned Medicare customers, including retention of ARR.
  • Undercover and develop customer needs as well as related value propositions and ROI/Case Study opportunities.
  • Drive customer success and adoption with contracted solutions, including understanding customer organization and business needs, and building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Builds and maintains effective professional relationships with prospects and customers ranging from front line staff to CEO.
  • Updates sales CRM system with all relevant opportunity information; forecasted close date, ACV amount, stage, contacts, weekly progress/next steps in process, customer health and proposal/pricing information.
  • Works with Finance to ensure timely payment of accounts receivable for assigned customers.
  • Effectively and timely communicates customer concerns to internal management, including product development/enhancement needs, service issues and contractual/renewal risk and concerns.
  • Maintains a proactive approach to contractual issues and obligations.
  • Stays current with the insurance industry environment and our competitors in the Medicare space.
As the Sales Account Executive you will be expected to meet or exceed an assigned annual quota, selling net-new accounts and additional modules to existing customers. This position requires solid experience and understanding of complex software sales, sales operations, contracts and contract negotiations.

Travel to prospects, customers and Connecture offices will be expected (approximately 70% travel).

  • Track record of success in selling new business at C-Level within health IT organizations
  • Strategic IT solutions sales experience
  • Experience demonstrating and selling sophisticated and complex products and technologies
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Develop and initiate relationship-based selling and establish relevant business relationships
  • Established contacts among key decision makers within customer departments
  • Effective time management, and prioritization skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CRM Programs)
  • Ability and proven experience in consultative selling able to identify and understand business issues and needs and develop alternative courses of action
  • Ability and proven experience persuading others with ideas and proposed courses of action
  • Ability to meet deadlines and goals
  • Understanding of the health insurance and Medicare market
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills both face-to-face and using WebEx or similar programs
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to travel up to 70%
