The Nurse Ambassadors have primary responsibility/accountability for providing appropriate product related training for patients prescribed AbbVie's products for the treatment of HCV infection. Nurse Ambassadors will serve as the link for each patient to understand the pre-treatment insurance process and on-treatment product and disease state education. Each Nurse Ambassador may interact with enrolled patients live or by telephone, in a way that is conducive to education and protection of privacy.

The Hepatitis C Nurse Ambassador serves as the primary AbbVie contact with patient stakeholders with the specific purpose of furthering AbbVie's key promoted products.

The Hepatitis C Nurse Ambassador Manager is a role that has management oversight of 8-10 Hepatitis C Nurse Ambassadors and accountability for the success of the program as well as compliance and monitoring oversight to comply with program guidelines.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the direct management of Hepatitis C Nurse Ambassadors
  • Responsible for ensuring the strategic focus, alignment, project management and tactical execution for each assigned geography throughout their region
  • Develops internal and external customer relationships to successfully drive AbbVie's business objectives.
  • Establishes self as a business partner
  • Interprets national strategies and tactics for Nurse Ambassadors in region, while developing and executing a local strategy that incorporates all national and regional objectives
  • Develops successful tactics and strategies to increase effectiveness of programs within an assigned geography.
  • Monitors district progress towards meeting and exceeding goals.
  • Effectively manages district budgets to ensure ROI is being maximized within assigned geography.
  • Effectively utilizes the performance management process by routinely conducting performance evaluations, providing feedback on performance gaps, providing coaching to minimize gaps and preparing Nurse Ambassadors to meet personal and company goals.
  • Uses motivational tools to effectively drive teamwork and superior performance within assigned geography.
  • Rewards outstanding individual and team performance.
  • Effectively utilizes both written and verbal communication skills to consistently provide clear direction to subordinates and peers.
  • Conducts routine interviewing to proactively identify prospective candidates.
  • Proactively leads and develops a diverse Nurse Ambassador team that is representative of company stakeholders.
  • Ensures Nurse Ambassador adherence to all corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines.

Additionally:
  • Role will be 25% strategic and 75% tactical
  • Role will be both internally and externally focused
  • Will have budget responsibility
  • The Nurse Ambassador Manager will report to an Associate Director, Patient Outreach .


Basics:
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products
  • Proven successful track record in previous roles
  • Ability to travel extensively (50-75%)
  • Previous management experience. Preferably 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the healthcare (or related) industry.
  • Ability to set vision and strategy for direct reports.
  • Ability to build and inspire direct reports.
  • Ability to coach and develop direct reports both short and long term.
  • Very strong time management skills

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Previous management experience. Preferably 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the healthcare (or related) industry.
  • Proven success working within patient-related organization
  • BSN, RN, PA, MSW licensure (Current license in good standing) preferred but not necessary.
  • HIV/AIDS or HCV experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Nurse educator experience preferred but not necessary.
